Planning and Precondemnation Activities as Constituting a Taking Under Inverse Law

State highway departments and transportation agencies have a continuing need to keep abreast of operating practices and legal elements of specific problems in highway law. This report supplements and updates a paper in Volume 2, Selected Studies in Highway Law (SSHL), entitled Planning and Precondemnation Activities as Constituting a Taking Under Inverse Law, pp 884-N75 to 884-N97. This report will be published in a future addendum to SSHL. It includes additional information referenced to the topic heading Introduction and Background in the original paper and a new topic heading, Recent Cases, that contains information not discussed in the original paper. It also includes an additional reference added to the Appendix Bibliography. This supplementary material was prepared by John C. Vance, who also authored the original paper.
