National Cooperative Freight Research Program: A Status Report

This digest reports on the progress andstatusof theNationalCooperativeFreightResearchProgram (NCFRP), which is sponsored by theResearchand Innovative Technology Administration (RITA) and administered by the TransportationResearchBoard (TRB) of theNationalAcademies. The NCFRP Oversight Committee meets annually to formulate theresearchprogram by identifying the highest priority projects and defining funding levels and expected products.Researchproblem statements recommendingresearchneeds for consideration by the Oversight Committee are solicited annually, but may be submitted to the TRB at any time. This digest contains background information, an introduction, a section describing the NCFRP, and three tables. Table 1 lists the members of the NCFRP Oversight Committee. Table 2 presents a list of NCFRPResearchProjects for FY 2006-2011. Thestatusof these projects may be found at the NCFRP website for projectstatus, www.trb.org/CRP/NCFRP/NCFRP.asp. Table 3 lists publications of the NCFRP.
