Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) Deployment for Airport Obstructions Surveys

Airports conduct obstruction surveys to identify obstacles (e.g., towers, buildings, trees) that may pose hazards to air navigation in the vicinity of an airport. The surveys, which must conform to requirements established by the federal government, have traditionally been conducted using aerial photogrammetric and ground-based survey methods. Rapid development of LIDAR (light detection and ranging) technology in recent years is
